The week of Plein Air Painting is finally over with a thunderous applause (literally). The last few days in beautiful Farmleigh House & Gardens at the Phoenix Park and then yesterday at Ardgillan Castle in Balbriggan when the thunder and downpours sent us all off home in a hurry. ⚡☔Such a well organised event and great to meet a super bunch of talented artists and partake of some excellent workshops. I will certainly spend the next while looking over these paintings and putting some finishing touches on them. Ladies view

Ladies View just outside Killarney Co. Kerry is a well-known site and tourist attraction. Queen Victoria’s ladies-in-waiting visited here during the royal visit in 1861. They were so taken with the view that it was named after them. I have visited this place both in summer and winter – magnificent with the lush countryside in summer and haunting loneliness in winter, but, always quietly beautiful.
