Carton Boathouse Heron

Carton Boathouse Heron is a painting I had been waiting to create.   Carton House Kildare, is nestled on the 1,100 acre private parkland and sits quietly on the edge of the River Rye and this is where you will find the boathouse. The story goes that the boathouse was thought to have been built especially for Queen Victoria who used to visit and dream about rowing a boat on the lake at Carton House.   Today, summer socials are held at this quaint venue.  The still waters and surrounding area attracts much wildlife and the grey heron is a frequent visitor and likes to dine here too!

Carton House is a five star luxury hotel.  It is the home to 2 championship golf courses and the proud host venue for a number of Irish Opens as well as the 2018 World Amateur Team Championships
